Native American artists featured here are from the various Nations
(tribes) throughout the country. Their artwork often reflects
the struggles of the Native American community from a contemporary
and personal perspective. Many have achieved national recognition
for their artwork that transcends cultural boundaries and deals
with issues that are faced by all Americans today. Often this
is blended with an historical perspective that remains strong
in a community where spiritual communing with the ancestors and
mother earth is still prized and protected by the Elders through
the oral tradition. This becomes the foundation on which the younger
generations move us forward in a vital and thriving cultural evolution.
We hope you enjoy!
